About Edward
Edward Santos is a product manager and operational strategist based in New York City. With a career spanning technology, education, and government, Edward combines thoughtful leadership with a passion for creating impactful solutions to complex challenges.
Throughout his career, Edward has built and managed technology that drives better outcomes for students, patients, and communities. At edX, Edward focused on enterprise data, enhancing its use for customers engaged in large-scale social impact initiatives, such as partnerships with Verizon and the government of Andhra Pradesh.
At TrialSpark, a biotechnology startup, he helped coordinate clinical trials aimed at delivering life-saving treatments faster. Earlier, at the NYC Department of Education, Edward played a pivotal role in the Pre-K for All Initiative, a large-scale, multi-agency project aimed at expanding free pre-K. He collaborated with city agencies and managed complex operations to create thousands of new seats, ensuring greater access to early childhood education for families across New York City.
In addition to his career experience, Edward has provided consulting services to a diverse range of clients, including investment firms, robotics companies, local construction businesses, and political initiatives. His work has focused on developing strategies, streamlining operations, and solving organizational challenges, further showcasing his ability to adapt and deliver value across sectors.
Edward’s dedication to community extends beyond his professional endeavors.In 2011, Edward was elected Treasurer of Manhattan’s Community Board 11 (CB11), where he managed budgets and established a new committee to organize local permitting processes. In 2013, he ran for New York City Council, championing universal pre-K and affordable housing policies to meet the needs of his neighbors in East Harlem and the South Bronx.
Edward began his career in education as a Teach For America corps member, teaching high school mathematics in East Harlem. His students achieved significant progress, reflecting his commitment to the transformative power of education.
A lifelong learner, Edward holds a Bachelor of Science in Statistics from the University of Michigan, a Master of Science in Teaching from Pace University, and a Master of Business Administration from the University of North Carolina's Kenan-Flagler Business School. In his free time, he enjoys staying active with CrossFit and soccer while immersing himself in the vibrant culture and opportunities of New York City. Edward is passionate about tackling challenges, building innovative solutions, and making a meaningful impact in every endeavor.
